Seiichi Nakamura

Performed Instruments: Tenor sax, Alto sax, Soprano sax, Clarinet and Bass clarinet

He was born in 1947 in Tokyo and studied under Yukio Ohashi with clarinet and Yuji Ishiwata with saxophone. He graduated from KUNITACHI college of Music, saxophone department.
While a student, he debut as a member of Yosuke Yamashita Trio and played free jazz music. Later, he united his own group and worked as gGeorge Kawaguchi New Big 4h.

He went to the United States in 1978 to study under George Coleman.
At that time,he performed in clubs and concerts as gTeruo Nakamura and Rising Sunh with Bob Mintzer and other players. After coming back to Japan, he appeared on a NTV program gWHAT A FANTASTIC NIGHT!h with Tamori.

Now, he performs on stage like jazz clubs and concerts in his own band in various unit styles from duo to several-piece band and also teaches younger people as a professor in Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, Jazz department.

From 2001, he has united a band named gBoNoBo Landh with Hideaki Yoshioka and continues to hold a concert regularly. He released a CD gDaro! (I know!)h in 2003 in the name of BoNoBo Land, gSERENATAh as a duo with guitar in 2005 and his latest CD is gSUNGLASSh which was released in 2008.
